Classic _ Crappy

Posted by Picasa

Is it a good movie? yes, i will claim it is a good movie. It is well shot, storyline is complete and well written. It even carries some really touching scenes, and wonderful acting from two Oscar winners. It got all the successful elements for an oscar winning film but it got too much.

Yes, i don really like the movie because it got too much oscar-hunting calculations and too much lookalike elements for a good hollywood movie. So at the same time, it got all the disadvantages of a well-defined "successful" hollywood movie. Too shallow.

Same case in Cinderella Man. how can u expect me to believe in a story like that? In the movie, James is so one dimensional illustrated . He is so perfect, always faithful to his family and his lovely wife, while his wife is playing a perfect role as a wife. The manager is mercyful and responsible, even selling all the furniture to bet for James's furture. Come on, when i watching it, i can't believe it is a person. No dark side is being explored, nothing human is being touched. But the worst thing is: It is touching. Yeah, it works, but does it sounds real to you?

Oh they told u it's based on a real story, actually it is a bio pic. So i should believe it?

If it is the only reason for a film to be convincing enough, i would claim it as a failure.

Cinderella Man is well directed and shot. Perhaps an oscar award is already reserved for it, but it fails to show us anything new: old kind of idea, old kind of plotline, old kind of ending. It spirits you up, but if you are not told of the year of shooting, it would be a bit hard to make a good guess. It's classic, but well too classic.

Despite the bad timing on film release, It may also be one of the reasons to explain the complete failure on the box office.

The taste of audience is changing, beware of it, Mr. Hollywood.
